Brasil encerra 2025 com taxa de desemprego em 5,1%, menor da série histórica
Queda da taxa de desocupação e recorde de empregos formais destacam recuperação do mercado de trabalho em 2025
O Brasil fechou o ano de 2025 com a taxa de desemprego em 5,1% no trimestre móvel encerrado em dezembro, o menor nível desde o início da série histórica da Pesquisa Nacional por Amostra de Domicílios (Pnad) Contínua, destacou o Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE) em relatório divulgado nesta sexta-feira. Essa queda consolidou uma trajetória de melhora do mercado de trabalho ao longo do ano, sinalizando recuperação sustentada após os piores momentos da pandemia de Covid-19.
Segundo o IBGE, a taxa média anual de desemprego em 2025 ficou em 5,6%, contra 6,6% em 2024, também representando o menor patamar já registrado desde 2012. Com isso, cerca de 103 milhões de brasileiros estavam empregados no fim do ano, número recorde na série histórica.
Os dados mostram que o total de pessoas desocupadas — aquelas que procuraram trabalho nos últimos três meses — ficou em cerca de 5,5 milhões, o menor contingente da pesquisa. A renda média real habitual dos trabalhadores também atingiu R$ 3.560, com aumento de aproximadamente 5,7% na comparação com o ano anterior.
Outro destaque no relatório foi o crescimento do emprego formal: o número de trabalhadores com carteira assinada chegou a 38,9 milhões, o maior nível desde o início da série histórica, aumento de cerca de 1 milhão em relação a 2024. Ainda assim, a informalidade manteve participação expressiva, com uma taxa de 38,1%, apontando desafios estruturais no mercado de trabalho brasileiro.
Especialistas apontam que essa combinação de queda do desemprego, expansão da formalização e elevação da renda média reflete tanto a recuperação econômica sustentada pelos setores de serviços quanto políticas públicas voltadas à geração de empregos. Apesar dos avanços, a manutenção de uma base significativa de trabalho informal ainda coloca desafios para a consolidação de direitos trabalhistas e para a qualidade do emprego no país em 2026.
